Even having his Mother come and campaign did not help him! I guess the Bush family run on the Presidency is now over.

Right now it looks like Donald Trump (as of today, February 23rd) is on the road to be the Presidential nominee for the Republican Party, much to the dismay of the Conservative Republican Party stalwarts. With Cruz and Rubio in a trailing position to Trump and John Kasich moving up in the publics’ eye it looks like a race for second place. And being in second place is not such a bad thing as in if Donald Trump is either rejected by the Republican Delegates for some reason, such as not being conservative enough, or he decides to run as an independent or just plain quits the race the person in second place could very well become nominee.

It seems that the voting public wants someone who is not a politician or at least does not come across as one. And for now Donald Trump fits that bill, as he is seen as a very savvy businessman who can fix all or at least most of the problems this country has. Will he be able to keep this persona or can this perception that people have of him be destroyed by one of the other candidates that are now still in the running?

While Hillary Clinton now seems to be getting the delegates she needs to continue on to win the Democratic nomination, Bernie Sanders did and will continue to challenge her. She also must take care not be overwhelmed by the political accusations being made. Plus of course her legal problems continue to plague her, which might end up dragging her down if they find something that can she can be charged with that will stick!

One thing that I have noticed that both Clinton and Sanders are trying to project the ultra liberal left wing persona. This is a big mistake on both their parts in my opinion; the largest and yet least vocal segment of the Democratic Party are those who call themselves moderates. Yes I know that the party has been projecting itself as a bunch of liberals, but liberals in reality have to know that they are just the most vocal minority and not the majority. Unfortunately those who are toward the center politically are content to just sit back and watch; they do not seem to assert themselves into the fray.

With many Primaries/Caucuses to come, the race for President will still hold voter interest for many months to come.

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike

Over the past couple of weeks many Republican Presidential Candidates have dropped out of the race plus Bernie has showed Hillary that he is in for the long run.
