Today\u2019s blog is going to be on a number of important or not so important New Jersey topics depending on your view point. The first one is of course about our Governor, Chris Christie, and the controversy that he has caused by endorsing Donald Trump<\/a>. It seems that by giving his endorsement to the man that many hate and until Christie ended his run for president he also disparaged. His seemly doing a one hundred and eighty degree turnabout is surprising to some and not to those who realize that Christie is a very savvy politician. And now some of our newspapers are demanding that the Governor resign or if he does not, that he should be recalled. This is getting totally out of hand and the newspapers are being very partisan, which is a very stupid thing for them to do in relation to what they are complaining about. They are not helping by suggesting things that will not happen because they are very hard to do; IE a recall of the Governor<\/a> is just about impossible and would cost the taxpayers of this state a tidy sum of money. And this is at a time when we do not have the extra monies to spare.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now on to the subject on the nomination of a judge to our New Jersey Supreme Court<\/a>, our State Senate President, Steve Sweeney, has said unless Christie nominates a Democrat Sweeney will block any nominee from being considered by the New Jersey State Senate. His reasoning is that it has been tradition that the Supreme Court of New Jersey Justices be politically balanced. What he means is that there must be an equal number of Democrats to Republicans. My question is this is not a written law and only tradition, so why does he think he has a sound reason to block any nominee based on their political affiliation? The nominee(s) should only be judged by the Senators on their suitability to sit with upon the Supreme Court of New Jersey and nothing else. So Mr. Sweeney stop being a political idiot and let the Governor present the Senate with a nominee!<\/span><\/p>\n

This seems to be one of the big problems here in New Jersey, that being political tradition trumps sound reasoning and the law (And yes the pun was intentional!). Well the excuse I guess is that this is New Jersey and it has always been this way. Some might say that it is time to get rid of all the political hacks and I mightily agree with that!<\/span><\/p>\n

Why are we the voters of New Jersey not yelling at our elected officials and saying that the real issues that are important to us are the following- Taxes, taxes, taxes! We want them lower, lower, lower\u2026now!<\/span><\/p>\n

I am going to now end this particular blog before my blood pressure goes too high. Wishing everyone would wake up-<\/span><\/p>\n
