Well two of them has come up with an idea to fund the replacement of these pipes.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">What our wonderful (not!) legislators have come up with is a bill that would hurt everyone and not really help anyone. The bill, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.njleg.state.nj.us\/2016\/Bills\/A2500\/2281_R1.HTM\" target=\"_blank\">AR2281<\/a>, is sponsored by two Assemblywomen, Valarie Vainieri Huttle (District 37 (Bergen)) and L. Grace Spencer (District 29 (Essex)) who don\u2019t seem to have a clue that this would just be one more unneeded tax.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Here is the justification contained within the wording of the bill-<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">\u201c<em>The Legislature finds and declares that litter composed of discarded beverage bottles and cans is a growing problem of public concern and a direct threat to the health and safety of the citizens of this State; that discarded beverage bottles and cans create a hazard to vehicular traffic, a source of physical injury to pedestrians, farm animals and machinery<u>,<\/u> and an unsightly accumulation of litter which must be disposed of at increasing public expense; that beverage bottles and cans also create an unnecessary addition to the State\u2019s already costly and overburdened solid waste management system; that the indiscriminate disposal of such bottles and cans creates an impediment to the efficient operation of New Jersey\u2019s resource recovery incineration facilities; that the uninhibited discard of beverage containers constitutes a waste of both mineral and energy resources; and that requiring a deposit on all beverage bottles and cans, along with certain other facilitating measures, will provide a necessary incentive for the economically efficient and environmentally benign collection and recycling of such containers.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><em>The Legislature therefore determines that it serves the public interest to provide that all beverage bottles and cans sold or offered for sale in this State have a refund value, and to provide for the convenient return and payment of the refund value of empty beverage containers.<\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">All I have to say is this- Why do we need a bottle deposit bill when we have mandatory recycling? Plus this would take money away from the cities, town and municipalities running recycling programs who make money that they use to fund themselves. And furthermore what are they talking about all the dangerous trash, where is this trash? They are making a mountain out of a molehill and trying to drain more money out of our pockets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Below is a little song based on the tune called \u201cNew York New York\u201d I hope you enjoy it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">New Jersey New Jersey<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">New Jersey, New Jersey a helluva of a state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">The taxes are high and your money is down.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">The people don\u2019t ride in a hole in the ground.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Instead they drive on pot hole ridden roads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Somewhere over the New Jersey Turnpike is a way out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">But don\u2019t just shout with your voice to the max, if you are a millionaire then you will be taxed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">New Jersey, New Jersey a helluva of a state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">I love it here, but I can\u2019t make it my dear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Some are staying, most are leaving.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Our legislators are in the high tax mode, we peons are using a low cost commode.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">What a dirty place it is by exit 13, but most of New Jersey is just in between.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">New Jersey, New Jersey a helluva of a state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">I just can make it here and stay up to date!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Will the last person to leave the state, put up the sign that says \u201cTaxes too high and we don\u2019t have anymore money.
