That is the question that will be answered today by a New Jersey judge and many Trump supporters are hoping that the judge rules that Cruz is not eligible.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">A New Jersey judge said that he would make his ruling on Tuesday (April 12<sup>th<\/sup>) if U.S.\u00a0Senator Ted Cruz\u00a0of Texas is\u00a0a natural-born citizen under the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.archives.gov\/exhibits\/charters\/constitution_transcript.html\" target=\"_blank\"> US Constitution<\/a> and therefore could appear on the state&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nj.com\/politics\/index.ssf\/2016\/03\/will_nj_matter_in_2016_election_well_know_after_tu.html\" target=\"_blank\">June 7 Republican presidential primary ballot<\/a>. Judge Jeff Masin in Mercerville heard arguments on Monday (April 11<sup>th<\/sup>) from\u00a0a\u00a0group of New Jersey residents and a Catholic University of America law\u00a0professor. They are saying since he was not born on US soil that he does not qualify to become President.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Mr. Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father. Donald Trump, who had been one of the most prominent voices questioning whether the Hawaii-born Barack Obama was eligible to be president, raised the issue of Cruz&#8217;s citizenship at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nj.com\/politics\/index.ssf\/2016\/01\/6_takeaways_from_the_6th_presidential_debate_video_1.html\" target=\"_blank\">January GOP debate <\/a>in South Carolina. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nj.com\/politics\/index.ssf\/2016\/04\/nj_judge_asked_to_decide_if_cruz_is_natural-born_citizen.html\" target=\"_blank\">Trump said<\/a> about Mr. Cruz, &#8220;<em>There&#8217;s a big question mark on your head, you can&#8217;t do that to the party<\/em>.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">One of the things that bothers me is not the question of whether Ted Cruz is a US Citizen, but why he held on to his dual status as Canadian citizen until very recently. He should have never been elected to the Senate while holding dual citizenship. His loyalty toward the United States should be questioned; for if he truly is an American then he should not be also be a citizen of another country (friendly or not). Mr. Cruz only dropped his Canadian citizenship after entering the race for President and did not do this before running for the US Senate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Somehow this has been overlooked by Mr. Cruz until it was pointed out to him that it was not something a United States Senator should be seen as; a Senator or Representative should never hold dual citizenship. The loyalty of any politician should not be divided between two countries!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Looking at the US Constitution it appears to me and it has been ruled in Pennsylvania that that Cruz is qualified to run.
