Getting to know the possible candidates for governor of New Jersey<\/a> should be happening as they are starting to come out of the woodwork, so I thought that it would be nice to have a little ditty for you today. It is based on the Song \u201cGetting to Know You<\/a>\u201d by Lorenz Hart and Richard Rodgers, may they forgive me for messing up their beautiful song.<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting to know you, getting to know all about you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting to understand you, getting to hope you understand our needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting to know you, knowing that you will do it your way,<\/span><\/p>\n

But not nicely,<\/span><\/p>\n

You are precisely,<\/span><\/p>\n

Not my idea of a Gubernatorial candidate!<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting to know you,<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting to feel like low taxes and queasy<\/span><\/p>\n

When I hear about you,<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting to know what lies you say<\/span><\/p>\n

Haven\u2019t you noticed<\/span><\/p>\n

Suddenly I\u2019m neither bright nor cheery<\/span><\/p>\n

Because of all the high taxes and blinding graft<\/span><\/p>\n

Things I\u2019m learning about you<\/span><\/p>\n

Day by day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not sharing your political spirit,<\/span><\/p>\n

Not sharing your jeers and you laughing all the way to the bank<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoping it does not go on,<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoping it does not last endlessly<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting to know you, not putting it my way,<\/span><\/p>\n

But with meaningless gestures<\/span><\/p>\n

You are completely,<\/span><\/p>\n

Not my friend you see.<\/span><\/p>\n

Telling you what I need,<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting to feel that you\u2019re not working for me<\/span><\/p>\n

Making your own fun<\/span><\/p>\n

Knowing we don\u2019t know how to beat you politically<\/span><\/p>\n

Now that I\u2019ve met you<\/span><\/p>\n

Suddenly I\u2019m most unhappy<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve found out that I can\u2019t trust you, not dutiful and true<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes I\u2019m talking about you<\/span><\/p>\n

Not friends today<\/span><\/p>\n

I hope that you enjoyed that and remember if the gubernatorial election starts to give you a headache, just sing this song and it may get worse!<\/span><\/p>\n
