\"Bridgegate\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Bridgegate<\/a> is over, so what now and where are we heading? Bridget Kelly, Bill Baroni and David Samson all have been sentenced for their parts in the closing of lanes on the George Washington Bridge. Samson got off way to lightly while Kelly and Baroni got somewhat more punishment.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The prosecutor has said that Chris Christie can not be charged because of no evidence that directly connects him to the lane closures and therefore he gets off scot free, at least civilly but not politically. He has paid some of the price for Bridgegate, especially when you consider he lost both the chance to be President and any chance of a cabinet post in the Trump Administration.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I do not think that the Democrats will let go of Bridgegate, after all it is the one thing that they can use to cast a pall over the Republicans. But if they keep harping away on this, then they will lose the publics interest and trust. The Republicans of course want this to disappear from the public\u2019s memory and replace it with their vision of healthcare and\/or how Trump is invigorating the US economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As to where are we heading, well in my opinion both the Democratic and Republican parties may very well undergo some drastic changes. Many of the left wing progressive Democrats are alienating the moderate majority by their constant chant of \u201cWe know better and we will make things better our way.\u201d Really?! What is wrong with these people, they act like only they know what is good for America and that no one else does.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

While at the same time the Republican right wingers (and the Tea Party people) also think that only their way is the correct way. So what is happening? Well one simple to understand word can be used to describe what is happening politically- \u201cGridlock.\u201d Look at what is happening here in New Jersey; nothing that is important is being addressed! Such as fixing our burdensome property taxes and the high cost of living due to the crazy laws that we have here. It seems that only trivial problems are being addressed right now and if the important issues are continued to be ignored, then we the citizens of New Jersey are going to have to endure very high taxes with little to show for paying them until the political damn bursts.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I can not see anything good resulting from the two parties not cooperating with one another as they have done in the past. All I see is a dark and expensive future that is foreboding of an economic crash the likes of New Jersey and maybe the country has not seen since the Great Depression.<\/span><\/p>\n
