If I were you I would have a bottle of aspirin handy, you will need it!

Firstly I will state that I do not think that having a restriction based system based on a percentage of the total number of people allowed to come to the United States each year is necessary. This kind of system allows for discrimination against so called undesirable groups; IE those who at this moment in time are not wanted by those in power in our government.

Immigration should never be based on race, creed, religion or politics (except for those who want to overthrow our government). When restricting a certain group or groups it usually results in those people coming anyway and causing even more of a problem for the people of this country.

What is needed is way to sift through all the applicants and somehow make sure that those who have criminal records or are known trouble makers are kept out. Plus we need to know that those who are approved to come here will not be a burden to us and that there is someone who will be held responsible to not only vouch for them, but also help them to acclimate them to their new country. It used to be that you needed a sponsor who not only vouched for you, but also guaranteed with money that you would not be a financial burden upon the community they settled in.

I propose we again use such a system with reasonable financial guarantees through a posted bond that the US government would hold until that person either becomes a citizen or leaves the country permanently. Of course the bond should not be too high, but at a reasonable level and there would be no restrictions on the numbers of people coming from any one country or region.

Yes I know that this is very idealistic and maybe unworkable but it is what I feel as the fairest method to achieve fair and equal legal immigration. Of course we must keep out those carrying contagious diseases and are not sound of mind. There do have to be reasonable limits on who can come here and those who want to come have to be able to contribute to our country. If you can not and someone will sponsor you by putting up a high bond, and then of course come here; otherwise stay away!

I know that the system would be much more complicated than I have stated how I want it to work, but remember I am no politician!

As for those who are already here illegally (the so called undocumented) we need to institute a system that insures that everyone that has a job here has an identification card to prove that they can legally work. As for those who can not get a card they will leave on their own when they can not find work. All employers would be held financially responsible in assuring that their employees do have the appropriate identification work card, otherwise they would be heavily fined and bared from any government contracts.

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike

Our immigration policies desperately in need of a makeover, too many people who want to legally immigrate here can not and way too many undocumented (illegal) have come to reap the American Dream without the approval of the American people, so here are my immigration reforms.

[11
637,48
post-2118","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-national","tag-border-security","tag-immigration-reform
["GET
