And that is not good, for a democracy to be truly democratic, people have to turn out to vote.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 18pt;\">When Murphy was elected Governor (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nj.com\/politics\/index.ssf\/2017\/11\/how_many_of_us_turned_out_to_vote_on_election_day.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">per NJ.com<\/a>), \u201c<i>The latest tally of votes by the Associated Press as of 9:16 a.m. on Wednesday had 2,019,665 votes being cast in the Garden State on Tuesday.\u00a0 According to the latest state Division of Elections data, 5,754,862 voters were registered to vote in Tuesday&#8217;s election.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 18pt;\"><i>That puts our preliminary voter turnout at a laughably low 35.1 percent, well below even those predictions of a record-low turnout.<\/i>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 18pt;\">This is not only abysmal, but just plain frightening. For a very few have decided who should be elected to office for the majority. Our governor thinks that he has a mandate when in fact he just might have won because of voter apathy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 18pt;\">It is my opinion that the people of New Jersey are just fed-up with all the political backroom deals and other shady politics. What they (and I) want is an election where the candidates truly represent the wants and needs of the people of this state. Not candidates put up by the political bosses who only care about themselves and not the people of this state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Our state needs leaders who will do the hard things that need to be done.
