Murphy and rape accusation is the topic I am addressing in this blog.<\/span><\/p>\n

Katie Brennan chief of staff at the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, talked publicly in a story published by the Wall Street Journal<\/a> that detailed her allegations of rape against Albert J. Alvarez. He was at the time of the rape deputy of personnel for Murphy’s transition team and then was chief of staff of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority under Murphy’s administration until the rape accusation became public.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ms. Brennan said that<\/a>, “On April 8th, 2017, Al Alvarez raped me. On April 9th, 2017 I learned that the system is broken. I have pursued every form of justice available. But it has become clear that this system is not built for survivors.\u201d Brennan said she \u201cdecided to come forward because I know that Al Alvarez, and all perpetrators, must be held accountable, must never rape again, and the justice system needs a complete change with regard to sexual violence. It is clear that leadership from the Murphy administration is needed to create meaningful policy change on several levels to make sure future victims do not have to endure what I have<\/i>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Governor Murphy said the following after<\/a> the Middlesex county prosecutor also elected not to prosecute Alvarez, \u201cI have got no visibility, and that\u2019s the way it should be to any of the processes that played out in Middlesex or Hudson County, I will continue to be guided by three prongs,” the Democratic governor added. \u201cTo have faith in survivors of sexual assault, second, to respect law enforcement which we have to do. And third, to make it better, to make New Jersey better, to make employers, including the state government better. We are still committed to all three.\u201d<\/i>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Well something happened to Ms. Brennan for it was reported that she went to the hospital after being raped to have evidence collected. For someone who two different prosecutors elected not to do anything, this young woman has stood up and publicly stated in uncertain terms that Alvarez did in fact rape her. I feel that there is a political cover-up happening her and look forward to Ms. Brennan bringing her suit against all those involved in this possible cover-up.<\/span><\/p>\n

I feel that Governor Murphy is pulling strings to try to put this very volatile episode out of the voting public’s eye. There is just too much evidence of a very possible political backroom squashing of the truth. For the actual truth not to present itself to someone who has the political clout to do something other than trying to sweep this whole episode under the proverbial rug is just perverse.<\/span><\/p>\n
