This week Governor Phil Murphy announced his Energy Master Plan for New Jersey. It relies upon renewable energy and reducing carbon dioxide output.<\/span><\/p>\n

From New Jersey Globe<\/a>, \u201cTo underpin the initiatives in the Energy Master Plan, Governor Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 100, directing the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to make sweeping regulatory reforms, branded as Protecting Against Climate Threats (PACT), to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change. With this executive action, New Jersey is the first state in the nation to pursue such a comprehensive and aggressive suite of climate change regulations.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNew Jersey faces an imminent threat from climate change, from rising seas that threaten our coastline to high asthma rates in some of our most vulnerable communities due to fossil fuel pollution,\u201dsaid Governor Murphy. \u201cSuccessfully implementing the strategies outlined in the Energy Master Plan will drastically reduce New Jersey\u2019s demand for fossil fuels, reduce our carbon emissions, greatly improve local air quality, and related health impacts. The Energy Master Plan, together with PACT, the most sweeping set of climate regulations in the country, represents a seismic shift in our energy policy. In the absence of climate change leadership in Washington, these reforms will help propel New Jersey to 100 percent clean energy by 2050. Through these aggressive actions, New Jersey will drive a world-leading innovation economy that invests in people and communities, ensures environmental justice for all residents, creates good-paying jobs, protects diverse vulnerable ecosystems, improves public health, and leads the way in the global clean-energy transition.\u201d<\/i>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The backbone of the Governor’s strategy is renewable resources and it does not include nuclear energy nor any use of fossil fuels. It is totally unrealistic and Mr. Murphy attacks natural gas as a very polluting resource.<\/span><\/p>\n

As you can see Natural gas emits the lowest amount of CO2 than anything else on the list. It is significantly lower than Diesel fuel or Gasoline. We have an abundance of this resource available to us and Murphy does not understand that his plan is an economic disaster because it relies on unreliable solar and wind power. When it should be based on safe modern nuclear power and natural gas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Murphy has blinded himself to the facts and if he is allowed to lead New Jersey down the path he has laid out his misguide ideas will economically cripple the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

Solar and wind power are not practicable replacements for oil. Maybe someday in the future when they are much more efficient then they are now they<\/span> just<\/span> might replace oil. Until then we must be realistic and understand that we can not change our energy sources overnight.<\/span><\/p>\n
