Driving in New Jersey is getting worse and worse. Trucks are illegally using the left lane on three lane highways, speeding and driving in the center lane instead of staying to right like the law says to do. Even people driving in their cars are not signaling when changing lanes, speeding, riding in the passing lane and tailgating.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since Memorial Day is coming very soon and it being the unofficial start of Summer, which is the start of the driving season, I thought I would talk about the subject of driving in New Jersey.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Let me start this by talking about how our roads are becoming overcrowded and still have many potholes that were created this past winter. So not only are we all dodging the bad drivers, but also all the holes still not patched (repaired) on our roadways. What can be done about the traffic? In the short term, nothing can be done. There are no quick fixes and when roads are widened they fill up to capacity quite quickly. Part of the problem is how this state has too many people going to work by themselves and not carpooling. There have been campaigns to encourage everyone to carpool, but in reality it just is not practical. The way this state is laid out it just can not work for most of us. Our suburban sprawl is no longer a plus but is a minus.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you use your turn signal to tell other drivers where you want to turn? If not why don\u2019t you? Too many fail to use them and it causes much frustration for many of us. So how about starting to use them and help thwart the raising of other drivers blood pressure.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now you left lane drivers, who do you think you are? The king or queen of the road, you are not the police and the rest of us want to get where we are going without you blocking our roadways. So give us all a break and stay to the right except to pass. It is the law and some day you might even get a ticket for doing it!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How about you truckers stop riding in the center lane clogging up our highways and not speeding almost everywhere you drive. You are a great danger to the driving public, so tell your boss to stop pushing you to get wherever they want you to go in the fasted time possible. After all you can not stop your truck as fast as a car and it can not maneuver as well either!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Also, all of you truckers and all of the rest of you motorists- how about calming down and stop trying to ride up the bumper of the vehicle in front of you. If it takes you a few extra minutes to get where ever you need to get to, so what! Better for that to happen than to have an accident where you run into the back of the vehicle in front of you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many you show no sign of knowing what our laws are when driving, so here is where you can take a sample driving test<\/a> and find out how much you really know.<\/span><\/p>\n

Governor Christie how about increasing the presence of our State Police on our state highways? Right now it is like the Wild West out there and getting worse by the day. I have seen trucks speed, ride the farthest left lane, run through lights, tailgate, etc. Not going to say that those driving your cars are much better, just you are smaller.<\/span><\/p>\n
