Jeb Bush has a fair amount of appeal for Republicans as he was the Governor of Florida, a heavily populated Hispanic state. He would draw a large amount of the Latin population to his campaign and his wife being from Mexico also is a big help.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He is a right wing conservative candidate that has the political acumen to conduct a good campaign against Hillary Clinton, assuming of course that she is the Democratic Party candidate. If nothing else Bush has the advantage of having his father and brother as previous Presidents of the United States of America. This would be an advantage if he were to be elected because of the wealth of experience both of these men have.<\/span><\/p>\n

While Mr. Bush is a party man he does seem to have his own political ideals<\/a>. For example when Donald Trump recently commented that John McCain was not a war hero, Bush tweeted the following- “Enough with the slanderous attacks. @SenJohnMcCain and all our veterans – particularly POWs have earned our respect and admiration.” Yet, when the subject of the Swift Boats came up in the 2004 campaign of his brother (George) he praised Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, the group that lobbed attacks questioning Kerry’s service record in Vietnam — attacks McCain unequivocally criticized in 2004 as “dishonest and dishonorable.”<\/em> So he does seem to have a double standard and makes me wonder how ethical he really is.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tim Miller, his campaign spokesman, stated that “A thank you letter to Col. Bud Day, Medal of Honor recipient and Air Force Cross recipient, twice captured as a POW, is not in any way analogous to condemning Donald Trump’s slanderous attack on John McCain.\u201d The good Colonel is a member of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, the group that attacked John Kerry for his service in Vietnam. Somehow this seems to be a double standard in how he politically perceives how to defend or attack another politician.<\/span><\/p>\n
