John Boehner&#8217;s sudden decision to leave tells the American public that this job is a political time bomb that could result in a schism for the Republican Party. The <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/john-boehners-stay-now-nothing-lose-070835385--politics.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tea Party politicians<\/a> have been trying to force Boehner out for quite awhile and now that he said he is leaving at the end of October there is no one who wants the job.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">As of now Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy was blocked from becoming the Speaker and Paul Ryan will not take the job. It seems that the Tea Party is causing ripples in the unity of the Republican Party that could cause at best a House of Representatives that will not be able to function. And at worst a facture within Republican Party that would result in the Tea Party forming its own political party.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\"><a href=\"%22While%20we%20go%20through%20this%20process,%20we've%20got%20to%20continue%20to%20address%20the%20people's%20priorities.%20This%20institution%20cannot%20grind%20to%20a%20halt,%22%20Boehner%20told%20Republicans%20Friday%20morning%20in%20a%20closed-door%20session.%20%22It%20is%20my%20hope%20\u2014%20and%20indeed%20it%20is%20my%20plan%20\u2014%20for%20this%20Ho\" target=\"_blank\">Boehner told his fellow Republicans<\/a> on October 9<sup>th<\/sup> that &#8220;<em>While we go through this process, we&#8217;ve got to continue to address the people&#8217;s priorities. This institution cannot grind to a halt. It is my hope \u2014 and indeed it is my plan \u2014 for this House to elect a new speaker before the end of October. But at the end of the day, that&#8217;s really up to the people in this room.<\/em>&#8221; Will he be able to get the far right wing Tea Party members to fall into line and can he get them to agree to someone who every one can work with as the House Speaker.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">As of this date Daniel Webster of Florida has been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wnyc.org\/story\/conservatives-pick-for-house-speaker-has-experience-flattening-pyramid-of-power\/\" target=\"_blank\">endorsed by the conservative Freedom Caucus<\/a> and Paul Ryan of Wisconsin was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2015\/10\/11\/jordan-said-powerful-conservative-house-freedom-cause-open-to-ryan-as-next\/\" target=\"_blank\">also is in the running<\/a>, but he has said he does not want the job because of family obligations. The conservative wing of the party has such tight control that any moderates are locked out of running.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">What they need in a Speaker is someone who can bring about compromise without it seeming so to those in the Tea Party as being disadvantageous to any of that factions positions. And this is a really big job that Boehner was doing his best to accomplish. Is there anyone that can bring about a sense of reality to the Tea Party members or are they so out of touch with reality that they will bring the Federal Government to a complete stop? They seem not to know how to compromise on their positions, not even a little bit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Jim Jordan, chairman of the House Freedom Caucus said <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2015\/10\/11\/jordan-said-powerful-conservative-house-freedom-cause-open-to-ryan-as-next\/\" target=\"_blank\">to Fox News<\/a> \u201c<em>that Ryan &#8212; or whoever becomes the next speaker &#8212; can no longer run the chamber from an authoritarian, top-down style.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\"><em>No more business as usual, whose group wants to see more bills from rank-and-file members get full floor votes and House leaders awarding committee chairmanships to a wider range of members.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\"><em>He pointed out that in 2012 Boehner removed conservative Rep. Tim Huelskamp, of Kansas, from assignments on the Budget and Agriculture committees, after Huelskamp voted against a budget proposed by Ryan, who was then the Budget committee chairman.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\"><em>That kind of stuff has to stop, this place has got to change.<\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif; font-size: 18pt;\">While this seems to be a good set of ideas, are they realistic or is he just talking up his point of view to make the public think that he and his caucus are what controls the House of Representatives?
