Sayreville Football Players Season Suspended for possible sex assaults.

[symple_spacing size=”80″]Sayreville High School senior football players have done the unthinkable and it is now asserted that some of them have sexually assaulted fellow freshmen players.  How disgusting can they get and for this to have happened in the locker room without the coaches sensing that anything was wrong is very strange.  Were the coaches in a state of denial?

My first question is why were there no coaches in the locker room itself or at least they should have been able to see into it via a window from an office.  And why was it not noticed that the freshman players were always in a rush to get to the locker room and get out before the seniors.  That should have been seen as odd behavior.  Also the coaches, their parents and teachers should have noted the how the behavior of those players who were assaulted had changed.  I am sure that those assaulted did everything to avoid their tormentors, didn’t that seem strange to anyone?

It is very strange that no one had noticed that anything was off in how the freshman players acted and what of the school administration not knowing that this was going on.  It seems like everyone in charge was doing ‘See no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil.’  Could it have been that no one did anything because they wanted to keep having a winning football team and not jeopardize the reputation of the school?

The district superintendent, Dr. Labbe, was correct in suspending the rest of the high school football season.  In doing so, he used all the information he had on hand and much of it was not public.  Many of the Sayreville alumni have been threatening to sue to have the football team reinstated and complete the rest of the season.  It is my hope that they reconsider this plan of action in the light of the facts that have been revealed in the last 24 hours.  But, if they do not I would ask why?  It will take law enforcement months to complete their investigation and then the prosecutor’s office will take a good look at the facts.  So, in no uncertain terms will this sex crime be swept under the rug or been put out of memory for a long time.  The stain of what these football players on the good people of Sayreville will be with the town for many years.  Are the alumni and parents in self denial or do they just want to put this behind them?  Hopefully they will see the folly of suing and stop pursuing it.

I will not go into what exactly happened as it is something that I think is R to X rated.  Here is a link to more information on what happened.

Please note that I did not include a picture, which would be that of the Sayreville High School, and the above link is all you are going to get from me.  Follow the links in the 101.5 story to NJ.com and you will learn more than you ever wanted to know about this disgusting episode in deviant sexual behavior.
