The next New Jersey election is coming up quickly and not only will you be voting for a new governor, but also we will be voting for Senators and Assembly persons.

I personally wish that someone else would have been nominated from both parties to run for governor. One candidate more or less bought their way in and the other is trying to not to seem to be a carbon copy of the present governor.

Also the candidates that are the incumbents, more or less leave a bad taste in my mouth after the Gas Tax debacle and other stupid (others who might be kinder might say unwise) votes that have left this state in such a bad financial condition that bond rating companies have lowered New Jersey’s bond rating resulting in higher bonding costs for the people of this state.

Many of the candidates have been in office for many years, a large number for decades and are comfortably ensconced in office for life because of the crazy way the districts are laid out. It is time to shake things up and elect some people who really care about making our state government work!

We do not need those who cater to the liberal far left nor those who favor the far right either, what we need are individuals that will truly apply themselves to the betterment of New Jersey and not enrich themselves on the public’s dollar.

Too many have earned government pensions in a so called full time job, when in reality it is just a part-time! Why are we allowing this outright rip-off of our monies and even worse is the fact that some consultants are also eligible for pensions. This is just ridiculous and nothing is being done about it at all.

Too much money is circling around the toilet bowel of our pension system as it is. Only the police and fireman have a pension system that works, the teachers should have theirs administrated by their union and not by the state. With all the mistakes past and present the drawdown of monies from all pensions, except for the police and fireman, exceed any realistic management control of pay outs. The pension system is going to meltdown in less than ten years or so and then what will happen?

If those in power in Trenton think that we the people are just piggy banks, they need to readjust their thinking. At some point there will be a backlash that will cause many in New Jersey government much discomfort.
