Fire and Fury

Trump and the press

Fire and Fury, a book by Michael Wolff that is causing President Trump much political turmoil.

The book is a tell all about Trump in his first year as President. Per Amazon,

With extraordinary access to the Trump White House, Michael Wolff tells the inside story of the most controversial presidency of our time

The first nine months of Donald Trump’s term were stormy, outrageous—and absolutely mesmerizing. Now, thanks to his deep access to the West Wing, bestselling author Michael Wolff tells the riveting story of how Trump launched a tenure as volatile and fiery as the man himself.

In this explosive book, Wolff provides a wealth of new details about the chaos in the Oval Office. Among the revelations:
— What President Trump’s staff really thinks of him
— What inspired Trump to claim he was wire-tapped by President Obama
— Why FBI director James Comey was really fired
— Why chief strategist Steve Bannon and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner couldn’t be in the same room
— Who is really directing the Trump administration’s strategy in the wake of Bannon’s firing
— What the secret to communicating with Trump is
— What the Trump administration has in common with the movie The Producers

Never before has a presidency so divided the American people. Brilliantly reported and astoundingly fresh, Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury shows us how and why Donald Trump has become the king of discord and disunion.

From what I hear it is an eye opener and Trump did try to stop it from being published, “WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s lawyers are expanding their crusade against a new book that gives a behind-the-scenes account of the White House.

In a letter sent Thursday to “Fire and Fury” author Michael Wolff and his publisher, Trump attorney Charles Harder demanded that the book, which reached No. 1 on the Amazon best-seller list Wednesday, not be published or disseminated. A copy of the letter obtained by NBC News cites defamation, libel and “actual malice” among the alleged wrongdoings in the book.”

It is very interesting to me that the President tried to stop the publishing of this book, what he did was to cause the publisher to move up the publishing date and now it is too late to stop people from reading the book. Whether what in the book is true or not or maybe somewhat true my view on Trump trying to stop publication is that there might be some truth in what Wolff wrote otherwise why was there an attempt to stop publication?

This reminds me of President John Adams and the Alien and Sedition Acts that he signed into law and the Supreme Court ruled as in conflict with the Constitution. Per Wikipedia, “The Alien and Sedition Acts were four bills passed by the Federalist-dominated 5th United States Congress and signed into law by President John Adams in 1798. They made it harder for an immigrant to become a citizen (Naturalization Act), allowed the president to imprison and deport non-citizens who were deemed dangerous (Alien Friends Act of 1798)or who were from a hostile nation (Alien Enemy Act of 1798), and criminalized making false statements that were critical of the federal government (Sedition Act of 1798).” The last law which criminalized the disparaging the federal government sounds like President Trump would like it to be the law today. Well Mr. Trump it is not and Mr. Wolff has the right to publish his book and you have the right to try to sue him for libel.

Remember everyone that here in the good old USA we have the right to free speech and it can not be taken away by our government.

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
