As you can see we come in the top ten only in two categories, education which is not unexpected with all the money that is collected to pay for it and crime and corrections something that is not something to be be ignored. Again with a low overall crime rate and a low violent crime rate our police have something that they can be proud of.

But we are 49th both in fiscal stability and quality of life, something that points to the big problem of spending more than the state collects. Also it points to unrealistic New Jersey Supreme Court decisions on mandating how money is distributed to the state’s school districts.

On quality of life we have the dual problems of poor voter participation and the legacy of all the Superfund sites distributed throughout the state. There are other factors that put us low down on the list, but we rate in the top 20 for both drinking water quality and air pollution. We have to remember that a lot of the pollution comes from the states west of us.

The politicians here need to reevaluate what the state should prioritize in the state budget and stop the crazy knee jerk reactions that have led to the wasting of monies to fix problems within the state that have resulted in nothing changing.

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
