Who are the true super heroes?

They are not the comic book ones, such as Super Man or Batman or even Wonder Woman. Who they are just ordinary people going above and beyond for their fellow human beings.

Communities across the globe contain thousands, if not millions of these people. They are police officers keeping us safe, government officials who in times of crisis rise to the occasion, elected politicians who keep our government fair and honest even in the face of disaster or revolution, those in the military who not only protect us from invasion, but step up in times of disaster to provide help, and finally the people of many countries who instead of cowering in fear stand up and can be counted upon to help those who need it.

Well a group of real life super heroes got a Thai children’s soccer team and their coach out of an underground deathtrap, of course with the help of many others. It took a lot of time and people to get them out and the Thai navy Seals (military) were the point men in this operation. United States Seals were also there as well as doctors and others. For a time it looked like things were very black indeed for this group of children, but because everyone worked together as hard as they could to get them all out safely.

Unfortunately one of the people who volunteered, a retired Thai navy Seal named Saman Gunan, did lose his life helping to keep those children and their coach alive. He is a true superhero that should be looked up at and he should be remembered for his heroism.

There have been many heroes among us through the years, but the ones who are the true super heroes do not search out the spotlight of public acclaim. Instead many when asked just say they were doing their job or it was the right thing to do.

I doff my hat to them and the rest of these true life super heroes. May we all strive to emulate them in our own small way.

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
