Lame Duck

New Jersey Future

Lame duck legislative shenanigans are in the works.

Our wonderful legislature can not agree on a bill that would allow the public to legally buy and use marijuana. Instead of working with the Governor they now are moving toward having you the voter decide on election day if you want it or not.

As we continue to lose businesses to other states with much friendlier business climates, our legislators are still fighting it out with Governor Murphy on what incentives should be handed out to attract new businesses and keep those who are now here and looking to leave in the near term.

Our children have to pass a test to graduate high school and there is a lot of thoughts being shared between the governor and the politicians on what changes need to be done. One senator wants to make it harder, which I find just ridiculous! What has to happen is for them to agree to find a way to make the test represent what the students need in way of knowledge for the real world. But I really think that all this testing is just non-productive and in fact worthless. And I think that the kids should be judged not on one test, but on the whole body of work done in High School instead of what is now law.

And finally these reactive politicians are trying to ban all flavored vaping products. It now seems to the FDA that it is the illegal additives that the kids are adding that are the problem. So why not just wait a little and let things be scientifically verified before outlawing something that is very effective in helping people to stop smoking.

In conclusion I am sure that our wonderful legislators are behind closed doors right now and getting to perpetrate some other shenanigans. Is this state great or not!

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
