Scott Walker is best known as the Wisconsin Governor that stood up to the state public workers union and limited collective bargaining for these workers. He also has made his state a ‘right to work’ state by signing legislation he pushed for. Now he has set his sights on becoming the next President of the United States.

As of time I am writing this Governor Walker’s standing in the polls in Iowa is only 3% in the latest Quinnipiac poll. Per Bloomberg, “In July, the same poll had Walker at 18 percent in Iowa. His standing has also fallen in national polls following a lackluster Aug. 6 debate performance and as he’s been tripped up by his own words on multiple occasions out on the campaign trail.” It does not look like the Governor has been able to catch the voting publics’ imagination nor their attention either. Donald Trump is still the top dog and has kept himself in the publics’ eye.

When you go to Walker’s official website you see a link to a video entitled “On Day One” then his so called top stories. But, what really interests me is the following quote, “In America we celebrate our independence from the government, not our dependence on it.” A very interesting statement for a politician to make; he seems to imply that he is very Ronald Reagan like in his politics and ideas. He is making himself to be the real conservative Republican candidate who will continue on the path that Reagan pioneered. Is that not a description of the so called ideal candidate per the Right Wing Conservative Republicans who control the party today want?

My wild guess that he is not the one that the voting public wants, even though he has stood up to the public unions and not only survived, but has seemed to flourish in the eye of Conservative Wing.

The last thing you see on his website is the following, “Reform. Growth. Safety.” A very appealing mantra for those who are on the Right, yet Trump is trumping him! Sorry I could not resist using that pun. What I see is a man who is desperately trying to make himself seem to be Ronald Reagan and is not succeeding. The voting public might like a lot of things Walker has to say, but Trump is a non-politician and that is what the voters want at this moment.

Walker as well as many who were favorites when they started out have fallen out of favor and the only way to get higher in the polls is tackle issues head-on with Trump. Yet, he will most likely will not be in the same debate as Trump. So this is the time to do something radical or dropout of the race. What will Governor Walker do is the question and only he knows what is in his mind.

Update as of September 21st 2015: Governor Walker has suspended his campaign and wants Republicans to look at other candidates instead of Trump.
