Who are the third party candidates? Part 2

Presdential Third Parties

Last week I talked about the Libertarians and the Green Party, today I will talk about the Constitution Party of the US plus some miscellaneous information.

Darrel Castle is the Constitution Party of the US presidential candidate and Scott Bradley is his running mate. The first thing you see on their website is a picture of Mr. Castle and sign-up area to join the campaign; smart of them. Per the website: “It is the nature of the State to seek dominance over the population. Freedom will not ultimately remain intact if we leave it unattended. America needs forward thinking leaders – leaders who do not apologize to the politically-correct demands of the thought police. Self-hatred and appeasement only foster more disrespect. We must find a way to chart our own course in the world as free and independent people.” I must say that this statement is succinct and well thought out. Makes you think, a very good statement that is compelling.

The campaign platform is as follows- Adherence to the US Constitution, withdrawal from the United Nations, an end to the Federal Reserve, withdraw from Agenda 21 and pro-life.

I will just go down the list, starting with adherence to the US Constitution. “The Constitution is the charter of liberty for the American Republic. It is much more than just a piece of paper or just a legal document. It is evidence of the grand design the founders left us and it secures the rights that God granted to us.” No real problems with that statement, at least for me.

Next is withdrawal from the United Nations. “I believe that the United States (U.S.) should regain its sovereignty and chart its own course. This is not isolationism. The U.S. cannot remain isolated from the forces agitating today’s world, which is so interrelated in trade, finance, instantaneous communications, etc.” It does sound very isolationist and while the United Nations needs to be fixed, we must still keep engaged with it to protect our interests and freedoms.

On ending the Federal Reserve, “I would end the Federal Reserve’s control of the United States’ monetary system by repealing the Federal Reserve Act. Interest rates would no longer be tampered with, as lenders and borrowers would set their own rates.” This was done during the term of Andrew Jackson and did not work then and can not see getting rid of the reserve helping us in any way.

Withdrawal from United Nations Agenda 21, “Private property rights are under assault in communities and rural areas across the nation as state and federal authorities move to enforce new planning development programs, particularly under the labels of Sustainable Development or Local Visioning.” That is why eminent domain has been curtailed by the courts and I see no real problem here as long as we keep the United Nations out of our laws.

The party’s pro-life vision is as follows- “If you’ve ever made a statement that you will never vote for someone who is not pro-life, or who supports abortion, and if you are really serious about that statement, then you only have one choice in this election. I am the only candidate of any party that is 100% pro-life or even close to it.” What he is really saying is that the party is more pro-life on the unborn fetus’s behalf and not in favor of  the Mother’s rights.

Again this blog is starting to run long and I will continue with the miscellaneous next week.

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
