Shootings of Police Officers

Police Shooting

This week there have been shootings of police officers, some might try to connect them with Trumps’ election and others might think that they are acts of domestic terrorism. With all the turmoil caused by the election of Trump, many blame him for what is happening. What is the truth?

The shooting in San Antonio TX seems to have something to do with a child custody battle with the now arrested suspect saying he is sorry. The suspect, Otis Tyrone McKane, said that, “Society not allowing me to see my son, I lashed out at somebody who didn’t deserve it. I’ve been through several custody battles and I was upset at the situation I was in.” This is his excuse? What kind of crazy logic was this man using when he shot detective Marconi? And all he could say about that what he did is to say that he is sorry. What a poor excuse for a human being this McKane is.

Another one of these shootings occurred in Saint Louis by George Bush III, who was later shot dead in a shootout. He had shot a sergeant. Per the St. Louis DispatchBush was being sought for questioning in the shooting of a St. Louis police sergeant about 7:30 p.m. Sunday near Hampton and Pernod avenues. A driver had pulled up next to the sergeant’s SUV and opened fire.” There seems to be no reason that Bush ambushed the sergeant and now that he is dead we might never know why.

In Sanibel Florida a police officer was shot by Jon Webster Hay in a drive by shooting and he suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder. From News-Press.com, “At the time the officer was sitting in his patrol car shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday night filling out a report from a routine traffic stop in the vicinity of 2300 Periwinkle Way.” Officer Jarred Ciccone is again an innocent victim of some twisted individual.

Why do people act like the police are some subhuman species, instead of realizing that they are just people like you and me? I know that many have a deep mistrust that been ingrained into their DNA by the community around them. From birth they have never found that their police force can be of any help to them. Instead they rely on certain members of their community, many who are in gangs or are in an area where their community is under the control of a gang. Gangs only look out for their own and never care about the community.

The real truth is that anyone claiming that our President Elect Trump has caused any harm to them and is fighting back against the authorities is just using Trump’s election as an excuse for mayhem.

In closing peaceful protesting is and should be fine with everyone, including the President Elect. And using violence is not and should never be condoned. Mr. Trump should make it clear that he does not and will not condom any violent or racist acts.

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
