Phil Murphy, another Jon Corzine?

Phil Murphy

Phil Murphy, another Jon Corzine? Mr. Murphy is running for Governor of New Jersey and he looks more and more like the most likely one to represent the Democrats this Fall. He is using his money to buy the nomination for governor and this is just what Jon Corzine did!

So what makes Murphy think that he would be a good governor for our state? Per an article in NJ.com, “Murphy, a Boston area native, spent 23 years at Wall Street investment bank Goldman Sachs before his retirement in 2006.” Well guess what, he worked with Jon Corzine at Sachs! What is even worse is the fact that he has never held elected public office. He was the national finance chair for the Democratic National Committee for three years and then President Obama appointed him US ambassador to Germany until 2013.

There is nothing in his background that even remotely qualifies him to be governor other than the fact that he has the money to buy his way in. Sound familiar? Yes this is just what Jon Corzine did and he was a terrible governor!

We do not need someone who thinks he knows what the so called “common” man needs here in New Jersey. May we be saved from those elements of the New Jersey Democratic Party that think that political offices are for sale to the highest bidder. It is high time that we the people of this state make a loud and clear statement to the political insiders that we do not want another Jon Corzine like candidate running for any office in our state.

I for one am getting sick and tired of people running for office that have no business doing so. Without any elected political experience in a local position, how can anyone properly govern the state of New Jersey? Have we not learned a big lesson by electing Corzine to political office twice, once as US Senator and once as Governor of New Jersey? One having a lot of money should not be the criteria for nomination to any office, much less actually being elected!

Murphy has said the following, “if elected, he will resist any orders from the federal government on issues Trump has discussed, including registering Muslims or deportations of those undocumented immigrants who participated in the Obama administration’s protective Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. “I will not take orders if I believe they are un-American or if they are not consistent with our Constitution,” Murphy said. “I am not going to sell out dreamers or split up families or register people based on their religion. If [Trump] is going to register folks based on religion, I want to be first in line to be registered.”” Whether or not you are a supporter of President Trump, he is the elected President of the United States and Murphy is saying that he would defy the Federal Government. Well I got bad news for you Mr. Murphy you would not be able to do what you have stated above and there has been no laws written or proposed to do what you talk about.

Murphy is just another wealthy person who thinks he can buy political office and tries to mislead the voting public that he is one of us, when he is clearly not! So it is time for you, Mr. Murphy, to go take your ball and go play somewhere else. We do not need another Jon Corzine!

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
