What to look for in a candidate

Voting Booth

What to look for in a gubernatorial candidate. I am going to give in general terms what I think you the voter should do/look for when considering who to vote for.

The first thing of course is to Google the names of the candidates from the party you are registered for and then find out more about them. Remember that the commercials you hear and see are put out by experts that want to manipulate you into voting for their candidate.

So what you have to do is a little work; that is do some research. Yea, I know it is going to take so work to do this and many of you might not want to take the time to do it. I think that a half hour’s amount of work on-line is well worth your time. The person you vote for might end up being our next Governor.

What I suggest doing first is to go to the campaign website of the candidate you are interested in and read what they have to say. Then do a search for articles on your candidate and see if you agree on what is being said about them.

Remember this, if your candidate has no political record at all or little to none do not assume that they can work within the existing political framework. Those who claim that being an outsider is a plus are just plain wrong! Doing a political deal is not like making a business deal at all, it is a lot more complicated and you need some political experience to be able to do it.

Of course you can go look at what I wrote about the front running candidates by going to the right hand top of page of my blog and look for the magnifier symbol, click on it and do a search for the candidate that you are interested in by entering their name.

And remember if you do not vote in next week’s primary you have no one to blame but yourself if the candidate you wanted loses.

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
