Internet Buying Tips

Internet buying

Now that Cyber Monday and Black Friday have passed I thought I would give you some internet buying tips for the rest of your holiday purchases.

One of the best places I go for sales is Dealigg, it is a social buying site (at least that is what I call it). Just sign up and enjoy the fact that others will do the work of finding items that might want. Plus you can setup to get daily emails on the most popular daily deals delivered to your inbox. Another nice feature is you can pull up deals under a particular store and even get coupons.

Another one I use is Slickdeals another member driven site with includes editors. Per the FAQ page on Slickdeals-

How Does It Work?

  1. Members share deals. Deal-savvy members find and share deals and coupons across a wide variety of products and retailers.
  2. Community Votes. Our community votes and offers helpful feedback on the best deals.
  3. Deal Editors Curate. From there, our team of expert Deal Editors curate the Slickdeals Frontpage with the best-of-the-best offers based on your votes and feedback.

Why Are We Different?
Unlike other deal sites that rely on the opinion of a few editors, our featured deals are a result of the collective intelligence of an entire community of millions. This means what you see on the Frontpage is guaranteed to be the best on and off the web.

So not only do you get what the members see as good deals, but you will get an email telling you about a deal that you have been looking for. They are called Deal Alerts and you set them up by going to your profile (the SK on the top righthand side of the page) and selecting the Deal Alerts option. There are comments by other members on each of the deals, which I find handy and maybe you will too. I must mention that Slickdeals does have an app for you to use, I have never used it, so you are on your own.

If you buy from Amazon do make sure to make a list, be it a Wish, Shopping or Gift one. You can make them private or public, the public being for your friends to look at what you want. A great way to get only things you want or can use instead of just what your friends might think you need. Also Amazon will send emails to you on items they think you might want.

Having Prime is a much better deal than just getting free shipping on Prime items, you can get free Kindle Books, Music and Videos. So it really is a much better deal than you might have been lead to believe. Wait till around Christmas to get Prime as Amazon usually offers it for a year at a discount and if you just want to try it you can get it for free for 30 days. Plus you can pay for it monthly after the free period ends if you only want to use it for a short period of time, like around this time of year.

Google Express is another great shopping experience in finding bargains, it is well worth a look!

My last tip is to use a site called Fakespot to identify if the reviews on the products that you want to buy are real or fake. This site will analyze Amazon, Yelp, TripAdvisor and Apple App Store reviews. All you have to do is copy the link from the item page, put it search window and hit Analyze to see if the reviews are real or not.

In conclusion I hope that the above helps you find what you want at a great deal and don’t blame me if you buy more than you planned to because of this blog.

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
