Don’t move to Florida, move to Texas

Abbott vs Murphy

From Texas Governor Abbott to New Jerseyans- Don’t move to Florida, move to Texas. He (said this in an OP-ED piece) goes on to say why and his arguments do make some sense. Well Governor Murphy (New Jersey) replied back with a number of things that he thinks makes New Jersey better and it is just a bad joke of a reply.

Governor Abbott makes the following statement, “In Texas, we’re focused on lowering taxes, not raising them. We believe that free enterprise, not top-down government policies, is the key to a prosperous economy. That’s why we are committed to ensuring that families and businesses in the Lone Star State keep more of their hard-earned money.” Murphy replies with “In New Jersey, we are moving in a new direction, and we’re making exciting progress. We’re working hard to be the state of good value for money and good values for all our people.

Well it seems that Governor Abbott lives in the real world and Governor Murphy still thinks that he is a diplomat and not the political leader of our state. Abbott talks about how he worked to help people keep their hard-earned money and Murphy talks about how we (he) is moving the state of New Jersey in a new direction.

It seems to me that what the Governor of Texas is talking about are real world economic realities that the typical working stiff has to deal with. While Governor Murphy talks about “For too long, New Jersey put the wealthy and big corporations ahead of ordinary people, and it failed miserably. Now, we’re moving New Jersey in a stronger and fairer direction …” What he is talking about is pure (pardon my language) bullshit!

Our governor and most of our legislators do not have the foggiest notion that taxes need to lowered and that the our over reaching system of laws need to be changed so that we are not oppressed by them.

Governor Murphy goes on to say, “For businesses, New Jersey provides distinct advantages, including our location, with direct access to 31 million consumers within 100 miles of Newark, alone. Thanks to our ports, we also offer unparalleled global reach.” What he fails to point out is the fact that these businesses are taxed and regulated to death. Many of these same business are moving out of the state because it is too hard to do business here and also a lot of New Jerseyans are also leaving due to the high taxes and oppressive regulations.

So Governor Abbott makes some very good points, except for the following facts-

A) That we have a much better climate here.

B) Our education system is one of the best.

C) The location of this state is ideal for businesses, whether local or international.

D) Our access to institutions of entertainment; such as the ballet, theaters, opera, etc is far superior.

And these are just a small number of things that makes New Jersey great.

But with our high taxes and crazy laws this state is slowly dying and Governor Murphy is accelerating our rate of decay with his stupid ideas.

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
