Somewhere over the rainbow

Phil Murphy

Governor Murphy must be thinking of the song ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’ from the movie ‘Wizard of Oz’ because what he has been proposing is just unrealistic.

The people of New Jersey need relief from our terrible tax burdens and our businesses need move incentive to stay rather than leave. Yet Murphy just goes on his merry way giving money out without any real idea how what he wants in programs will do more damage to this state’s economy and people than what his predecessor did.

When confronted by a man from Freehold NJ the Governor replied, “Hikes are needed because he “inherited a mess” from his predecessor, Republican Chris Christie, and that the state “stopped funding” important things like education, transportation, women’s health and more. “We need to be that state that’s good value for money,” Murphy told the audience of about 100 or so. “You say: ‘You know what? It may not be the cheapest place in the country to live, but you get a lot back for that.“”

Really Governor! We get a lot back? The answer is yes we have the best school systems in the country, but our state government is hemorrhaging money, the state employee health plan is wasting money and at the same time no one is trying to stop the runaway money spending.

New Jersey is one of the top states where it costs to live and people in droves are leaving each year. What pray tell Governor are you realistically doing to change this? The answer is nothing, you are in the tax them more and spend more mode. You have no real idea what you are doing to this state with your political ideas!

Go read this article in Smartassect.com, it does not paint a pretty picture. In fact it shows that if something is not done soon this state will end up in the cesspool of taxation very soon. The cost to buy food is just crazy, “Compared to a national average indexed to 100, groceries in New Jersey come in at 107. Another study found that New Jersey’s grocery prices were the eighth-highest in the nation.” We need our taxes to go down and not up. Tax relief is the byword that our Governor and Legislators should be living by.

Just by searching my website using the word ‘taxes’ I see four blogs on that subject. I have been screaming at the top of my lungs for years that things are getting worse and yet no one is doing anything. Maybe it is time to give up and move to somewhere else.

Well I am not ready to do that just yet! But, I do have to tell you I did look at Delaware when I was looking for a new place to move to and it is a lot cheaper there to live. Strange isn’t it that only one state away the taxes are not oppressive, why is that? The answer is that the typical New Jersey politician is not for the people, but for the unions and themselves. It is high time for New Jersey voters to boot these people out of office!

The primary election is coming up in June, if you want things to get better vote only for those who will put you the taxpayer first!

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
