Unnecessary Brining

Roadway brining

Governor Murphy has proven himself to be incompetent by the wasting of the taxpayer’s money on unnecessary brining of our state roads on more than one occasion.

Declan O’Scanlon wrote on Save New Jersey, “whenever you go outside on a chilly day, you see government trucks dumping thousands of dollars of resources unnecessarily onto the roads.” Furthermore “The administration’s response to their shortcomings during the November snowstorm should be to reevaluate their preparedness and response levels in order to ensure appropriate mobilization during an actual winter storm event. They are now swinging in the other direction: from lack of response, to wasting taxpayer money to avoid another public relations nightmare.

So being the good administrator Governor Murphy is, not, our department of transportation is going crazy because Murphy has a target on his back labeling him as not caring about the safety of our roadways during bad weather.

Per NJ.com, “People on social media responded to a report on New Jersey 101.5 about fresh brine on several highways across the state Wednesday morning, including Route 202 near Flemington in Hunterdon County, on the New Jersey Turnpike in Middlesex and Union counties, and the Garden State Parkway in Middlesex and Union. No snow was reported in those areas at the time, although a Twitter user reported a light dusting of snow in Morris County and the National Weather Service reported light snow at Sussex Airport in Sussex County at 2 a.m. Wednesday.

So it seems that the Governor is the Chicken Little of New Jersey, for if it even remotely seems like it will snow he tells the DOT to brine the roads.

Murphy said this in response to the question of brining, “As far as tweaks to future storm responses,” he said, “we just have to be more aggressive.” Being more aggressive seems to be the Governor’s new mantra and we the people are footing the bill for all the wasted brining, which also is bad for the environment and our vehicles.

If this is how Murphy will react every time something happens that ends up being his fault, how much extra money will he spend in his aggressive over reaction stance?

Governor Murphy just calm down and rethink your aggressive reaction policy. Do not waste our money, we are already paying way too much!

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
