Governor Murphy must live on a different planet! He thinks that taxes do not matter.

Per an editorial by Senator Declan O’Scanlon in the Asbury Park Press, “Gov. Murphy showed his true colors when he told business leaders recently that New Jersey may not be their state if they are concerned about tax rates.

It’s outrageous that Murphy is telling families and employers they can “take it or leave it” if they have a problem with New Jersey’s high taxes.”

What is wrong with him? Does he not understand that New Jerseyans are at the breaking point and many are leaving the state. Plus many businesses that have thought of coming here have decided that with the combination of high taxes and an unfriendly business climate to go elsewhere.

Furthermore, “Last year, twice as many people moved out of the state than moved in. In fact, we lost more people than any other state.” At this rate New Jersey is going to go into a death spiral in the not too distant future.

I do have to say that the governor sure does not understand politics and how to make the voters happy. Plus he has alienated both his own party and the Republicans.

The man just does not get it! High taxes do matter and there is nothing he can say or do to change that. This is what happens when you elect a diplomat, for they expect people to jump and do their bidding.

It is my hope that someone will take the governor aside and explain the reality of his high tax and spend form of government. My hope is that he does not reelected for a second term and that in the mean time the New Jersey legislators just ignore the governor’s calls for more taxes.
