As we await the spreading of the Covid-19 virus across the United States, Americans have become more and more paranoid. Many are acting like a bunch of sheep disguised as vigilantes in many cases.
Just login to your Facebook or Twitter account and you will see that many people are condemning those who are seemingly defying the laws/rules put into place by state and local governments.
A good example are those who think that they are playing a joke on everyone by coughing on someone or food and then saying that they have Covid-19. In the environment we have right now this is considered a form of making terroristic threats and is illegal. So the last laugh is on them.
What is even worse are those who are running around, literally of course (at least I hope so), accusing the opposite political party of not doing everything they can to protect the public from the pandemic. Some are so panicked that they even have used physical force to quarantine those suspected of have Covid-19. Yes this really happened in Maine. Unfortunately those who perpetrated this crime had disappeared before the real law showed up.
Governor Gina Raimondo of Rhode Island at first ordered the state police to stop only those with New York license plates and force them to self quarantine. Under what authority she did this I do not know as this might come under federal jurisdiction as part of interstate commerce. She backed down when Governor Coumo of New York threatened to sue. But instead of just New York drivers, it now applies to all who are not working in Rhode Island. Here is what Raimondo said, “So, yesterday, to keep all Rhode Islanders safe, I signed an executive order imposing a quarantine on all visitors from any state, by any mode of transportation who are coming in Rhode Island for non-work purposes and plan to stay.” I would hope that President Trump and/or someone from the federal government would inform this nut-ball that she can not do this!
Life is truly stranger than fiction it seems. And it is only going to get even more strange if the sheep keep up with their shenanigans.
When Trump banned those traveling from China to the United States, many Democrats (such as Pelosi) cried about the rights of those who want to come here. What they did not understand was the fact that what Trump did just might have slowed down the spread of Covid-19. It is just the progressive left wingers feelings winning out over common sense. Of course they quickly changed their tune when many started getting sick.
The sheep need to stop listening and reacting without thinking. They need to gather all the relevant facts before coming to any conclusion and most of all they must understand that they can not and should not take the law into their own hands.
