I thought long and hard on what I wanted to say today as it is Thanksgiving after all. Well in the end temptation got the best of me and I wrote a poem from the legislature to you the over taxed/voter. So a very Happy Thanksgiving to all and enjoy the start of the holiday season.

Thanksgiving to us from you

Thanksgiving to you from us, thanks for giving us all you have from head to toe

and that is a lot of dough, you know!

We want it all, so give us your money large and small,

When you go to the mall and even when you run afoul of the law we do not give a guffaw.

Thanksgiving to us from you to us, we are someones and even if you are the glum ones

We hope that the money we get won’t make you jet, so that we can wet our whistles.

Please don’t bristle just because we want to wet our whistles.

For we want what is yours and make it ours not yours.

Your money is ours and our money is spent, not for you and not by you

Just like when you go to the Zoo, we take what you have and we are glad.

You may be sad, yet we are very glad to have everything you have.

So Thanksgiving to you from you to us, thanks for giving us all you have from head to toe.

Don’t you just know that we want to show what we know, you know?

We the New Jersey Legislature are creatures of habit, we want to eat everything in sight just like a rabbit.

Your money you should dump out of your pockets, so we can act like bandits!

So be happy this Thanksgiving and give all you can for we of the New Jersey Legislature will take it with glee.

Be it a fee, a tax or some other money making scam, for if we are caught with our hands in the cookie jar we all will cry we need the money for our wives’ boudoir!

Hardy har har! The General Fund is some big cookie jar.

For it is filled with dough and we must blow the monies on everything you know.

But you can pretend to be the Great Gazoo! Just don’t say boo hoo.

And be like his friend Fred a man who appreciates a very large spread.

Our legislative leaders are like Fred, many have a swelled head.

So a warning to all in New Jersey, taxes are high and voters are nigh!

And to all I must end this with a long and loud sigh.
