Bobby “Jiyush” Jindal

Bobby Jindal

Bobby “Jiyush” Jindal is the Governor of Louisiana, was US Congressman and a Vice Chairman of the Republican Governors Association. Now he is running for President as a Rhode Scholar who is a right winger.

The first thing you notice on the official website is that he has comparisons between his health care plan proposal and the annual state spending increases of Louisiana versus the other Republican candidates. Very smart of him and does show that he knows how to make himself standout from the pack.

On Sunday August 31st while on Face the Nation Jindal said that “We need to insist people that want to come to our country should come legally, should learn English and adopt our values, roll up their sleeves, and get to work. We need to insist on assimilation. You know, in Europe they’re not doing that. They’ve got huge problems. Immigration without assimilation is invasion. That can weaken our country.

Let’s forget this politically correct left notion that we’re not a melting pot anymore,” he added.”

He knows that what he is espousing is diametrically opposite to what many of the Progressives are thinking as politically correct. What he is saying is the path to legal immigration needs to be fixed and that those who come here should learn our common language, English, and become Americans. He is alluding to  what is happening in Europe as an invasion of people who do not want to blend in or be part of the country they are in. And yes he is correct on all accounts on what he said on Face the Nation. We have been too long turning our backs on the facts and we as a nation need to address these immigration problems.

Jindal also wants the mayors of so-called “sanctuary cities” where the public officials won’t cooperate with federal immigration enforcement should be held liable for the crimes committed by these illegal (undocumented) immigrants. I again must agree that he is right and his thinking is right on the mark on this issue.

Breitbart has an article saying that “The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) says that Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s decision to end his state’s Medicaid contract with Planned Parenthood violates federal law.” He does not make himself a friend to those who think that a woman has the right to choose; instead he stands with the Republican Party’s Right Wing by being a hardliner on abortion. Even if what he does violates a women’s constitution rights.

As a Rhode Scholar he can claim quite correctly that he has the brains, but he does not seem to know how to use them. For example Mother Jones said in an article, “In 2008, Jindal supported a law that makes it easier for biology teachers to “teach the controversy” on the theory of evolution. His stance on the issue has earned him unfavorable attention outside the state.” His stand on evolution versus creationism is very clear and the author of that article is correct that this will badly hurt Jindal outside of the Bible Belt.

While the Governor has many traits that are positive, at the same time he is tying his hands by being a Right Wing Republican and not trying to be more appealing to the whole of the American voting public. He is following the rest of his fellow Republican Presidential Candidates by avoiding having any offending ideals that might offend the Right to Lifers and other Right Wing aspects of his party.

That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
