You can make a difference! Yes you the tax payer/voter, this is the second time that New Jerseyans have stopped the Gas Tax Hike bill from being voted on. If we work together toward a reasonable goal we the people can exert enough influence upon our politicians to make them do what we want.
Yesterday by flooding the offices of our legislators we the people changed enough minds that Sweeney had to call off the emergency Gas Tax vote. So if we work together toward a common goal, we the public can make a difference!
Tomorrow you again can make a difference by continuing to put pressure upon your legislator to make sure that the Gas Tax vote does not take place. And also to send the signal to the political bosses that we the people do have the power to stop them.
All of you who called/emailed your legislator must now realize that you have more power in your fingers than you ever imagined. If you have been listening to the nay sayers who tell all of us voters that we really can not stop the politicians and their party bosses; you now know that this is a total falsehood that has been perpetrated upon the voting public by the party bosses to make us feel powerless.
While the politicos think that the candidate with the most money stands the best chance of being elected; we the people need to realize that all the money spent on commercials, flyers, letters, etc. should not sway us. What should have an influence is not only what they say, but what they do and did in the past. Those things should count many times more than anything that a candidate can purchase in the arena of public influence.
I truly believe that some of you reading this blog are beginning to realize that what you perceive what a person is; is not as important as their past voting record or what they have done for your community. Let us all stop and think about what the politicians are saying or doing; you must pull yourself back from what is happening around you and try to take in the whole picture. If you can do this and stop being sheep being lead around by those you think know what they are doing, then you will be a better person for it.
So stop listening to those who say a single vote makes no difference! You have both a mind and a voice that you should use to make New Jersey a better place to live in.
That is my opinion- Jumpin Jersey Mike
